Well GOOD DAY ALL
WITH JANUARY and FEBRUARY behind us and very little to report on since my last update, it’s safe to say those WORLD CLASS TUNA are not far away.
With the misty mornings and birdlife on the 200m contour as well as BAIT BALLS, it’s only a matter of time before these illusive BEASTS find the food.
Remember TUNA MASTERS CAPE TOWN the first of 3 INTERNATIONAL events 21st to 25th APRIL out of HOUT BAY then TEOS (SEPTEMBER) and followed by the FINALE ALACATI (OCTOBER)
The current weather patterns are those of MARCH/ APRIL so don’t delay in getting those reservations in soonest as APRIL is already almost full and MARCH/ MAY filling up nicely.
Some good CATCH and RELEASE of MARLIN has occurred with many more hook ups, knock downs and sad stories but that’s the order of this fishing with many more lost than landed.
On the INSHORE GAME FISHING side it’s been BLEAK with no sign of YELLOWTAIL, SNOEK, OR ATLANTIC BONITO but this can all change in a flash once the GALE FORCE South Easters abate and we get some settled weather with light westerlies.
We still have 2 days of our Depleted CRAYFISH SEASON 10th and 11th of APRIL////
On the REEF FISHING side it’s always a BANKER with plenty of action but mainly small fish on very light tackle perfect for young children or short family trips.
Remember PELAGIC BIRDING as we have some of the best viewing in the world with a Minimum of 5 ALBATROS species in one day (possibly more) many of the PETREL species and on all our last trips even the Spectacle Petrel/Giant Petrel both Northern and Southern.
Anyway the next 3 months should be a cracker, remembering WEATHER always has the final say so try to be flexible with your dates.
Enjoy the PHOTO”S testament to our success and remember if shopping around CHEAPEST in this activity is never your best option as QUALITY comes at a price.
