Certified IGFA Captain, with SADSAA and WDSAA colours – but my real pride is giving you the fight of a lifetime.

He’s the hardest guy to get a photo of – mostly because he’s always behind the camera.

Grant’s been with Hooked on Africa for nearly 20 years and, like Sean, has spent his life fishing these Cape waters. His trick? He learns everything about your group before you even hook up… just so he can remind you of it while you’re battling an 80kg yellowfin. (Don’t tell him too much.)

When he’s not helping land fish or snapping your next WhatsApp profile pic, he’s shooting big wave surfers or chasing rare bird sightings offshore.

Jarryd runs the back deck better than anyone we know – sharp, dialed, and always ready to help.

Scared of holding fish? Don’t worry, he loves it — he’ll even make sure it’s perfectly placed for your photo.

He’s been with Hooked on Africa for 3 years now, and still says he wants to do this job for the rest of his life. Fishing his whole life, starting on commercial tuna boats, his knowledge runs deep.
