Well, good day all!
January’s come, February’s gone and March/ April and May are ahead of us, traditionally these 3 months are PRIME TUNA TIME. If the reports are correct, very good tuna are on the bank off Namibia and good catches of big Longfin Tuna 300 nm North of here. We’ve been getting 2’s and 3’s of mixed sized Yellowfin Tuna in our catchment area.
The Hecticness of the silly season has now calmed to weather dependant charters and our results have been really good with Snoek at Rocky Bank and Robben Island, Yellowtail on the current line, sightings of Marlin in the deep with only one successful release so far this season.
Just when you think the Tuna are gone we land 9 Yellowfin in a corporate day out and a few more a few days later the biggest being 60kgs the largest so far this year!
Looking ahead we have THE TUNA MASTERS from 16th to the 21st of APRIL and the GORDON’S BAY OFFSHORE CLASSIC 28th APRIL to 5th MAY so for those of you looking for some action get those bookings in as we have a world class fleet of sportfishers for hire. Check out www.deep-sea-fishing.co.za
We have just completed another Discovery Channel Shark Week shoot so keep an eye out in June for some amazing action.
The next 3 months looks very busy already, but with our quality fleet of tried and tested boats we will tailor make an excursion for all your needs.
