The Captain’s Log May 2015

Well GOOD DAY All
The fishing has just got better and better since our last update with QUALITY FISH rather than QUANTITY- 2 fish in the last month over 100kgs one of 105 and another of 102 with a number in the 90’s and even more in the 60’s and 70’s.We have broken most PB’s (personal bests) of our anglers and set some so high they may not be achieved again in a hurry.

We are now well into MAY and I have no doubt the TUNA will continue into early JUNE providing we don’t get a flurry of cold fronts.

The good news is that ahead of us lies a prosperous WINTER with SNOEK and YELLOWTAIL the target species from JUNE TILL OCTOBER after which the TUNA will be back.

So if you’re after some fun during the CAPES WINTER MONTHS on light tackle or fly, HOOKED ON AFRICA FISHING CHARTERS the CAPES number one charter operation, give us a call or drop us an e-mail and let us entertain you. Please see a typical inshore snoek trip on our web-site under video’s.

With the onset of WINTER it also brings the arrival of our WINTER BIRDS and they have already made their appearance in large number FLOCKS of PRIONS and PRINTADO PETRELS with their very predominant chirp are here and our fleet is already reserved for OCTOBER.

The winter trips also bring you into contact with a host of other often seen species, WHALES, DOLPHINS, PENGUINS so if it’s a fun filled day your after look no further.

So HOOKED on AFRICA with its SMITH OPTICS sponsored by STEALTH FISHING so we can see the fish, as well as its TUFF-LINE BRAID,STEALTH FLY TACKLE as well as our tried and tested HALCO LURES (current brand ambassador) which currently have hooked more BIG EYE TUNA than I can care to remember 5 of them over 100kgs will always put you into whatever’s biting at that particular time of year or season.

Enjoy the new photo’s and join our FACE-BOOK GROUP linked to our site for all the LATEST developments including goggle plus and twitter.
