Well Good Day All
SPRING has SPRUNG and with a month or so to go, THE TUNA will be back!
Since our last update and in between the WINTER WEATHER we have as usual been busy.
Our PELAGIC BIRDING CHARTERS under the watchful eyes of TREVOR and CLIFFY have produced so fantastic sightings and in the words of a renowned PELAGIC EXPERT “ITS THE BEST BIRDS I’ve SEEN on an outing”. We have 4 trips in SEPTEMBER and again in OCTOBER so for those wanting a world class experience get hold of TREVOR from ZEST for BIRDS.
Our INSHORE GAME FISHING and WINTER SPECIALS have produced some good days on the water with YELLOWTAIL, SNOEK , ATLANTIC BONITO and CAPE BREAM being the order of the day and this will continue through SEPTEMBER and OCTOBER.
We are currently in negotiations for the OCEAN RACE (which used to be THE VOLVO OCEAN RACE) and they will arrive at the beginning of FEBRUARY 2023 from ALICANTE in SPAIN, a brief stop at CARBO VERDE ISLANDS and then onto CAPE TOWN where we will again provide MEDIA and CAMERA boats (watch this space for more info and updates)
As already mentioned our TUNA should be back from MID-OCTOBER ( NEPTUNE WILLING) and will again keep you updated on developments.
Remember our very own TUNA DERBY this year will be opening function FRIDAY 28th NOVEMBER fishing 29th/30th if blown out or NO FISH then 19th/20th NOVEMBER///
All vessels have been SAMSA surveyed, upgraded and ready for what looks like a very busy season.
Our Ongoing relationship with THE TWO OCEANS AQUARIUM has again shown good results. At a recent tour by Talitha who heads up the team of dedicated REHABILITATORS, I was amazed to find 150 baby TURTLES all of whom have been rescued and are currently being hand nursed back to full health along with many others of varying sizes, once our waters get to 20 deg, will be released back into the wild. The last 3 releases (see the PICS) have just shown how quickly and far these little guys can move.
So from giving back to taking out of MOBY DICKS LOCKER and everything in between we’ve got you covered BUT just remember when shopping around and with the silly season coming choose an operator who knows what they doing as there will be plenty out there with all the gear and absolutely NO IDEA just to earn an extra RAND.
