Note from Sean........

WWell good day all.

Compliments of the season to you may it be a fish - full Season.

Well you haven’t heard from us for a while mainly because we’ve been very busy, on the days the weather has allowed us to get out. November proved to be the worst weather month for the last 5 years with 7 colds fronts and consecutive days of gale force South Easters.

However since my last update the season has produced good catches of big Yellowfin ± 65kg and an abundance of longfin Tuna. This years Tuna Derby was a great success with us fishing 4 of the 5 days with Hooked on Africa again doing well. Day 1 we took the Captain Morgan Tag release prize, followed by 2 consecutive bad days. Then on the last day we took a gamble and went West, a gamble which payed off by 0930 we had 7 Yellowfin plus a number of Tagged longfin and by the time it was lines up we still had 7 Yellowfin but ± 50 longs many off which we tagged and released.

At the end of the day we took the Captain Morgan prize for the most Tagged and released fish, the 3rd biggest Yellowfin caught by Paul a regular on the team and the 4th biggest longfin by the always lucky Stuart. Some more highlights of the last few months were a client of 12 years old that caught a ± 60kg Yellowfin, a longfin and a Yellowtail all in 1 day.

Many anglers from England surpassed their biggest fish being that of a macarel. Anyway, December and early January have produced good catches of Snoek both on spinning tackle and fly combined with a Crayfishing excursion to leave most of them with a day they will long remember as well as having a mouth watering experience.

Well on the Tuna front I don’t think we will see much till April so between now and then it will be Yellowtail, Snoek and whatever’s along the current line.

Enjoy the pictures.
